Would love to hear all the tricks on making sure to get all the Water and the Protein Drinks in and still adhere to the waiting 30 mins between eating and drinking. I struggled today and would love to know how everyone does it. Thank you!! Hi there! Had sleeve 8/19/19 & I’m getting all Protein & fluids in. I drink my Protein Shakes for meals. And all day long I sip on ice cold Gatorade 0 with a packet of Protein Powder in it. I also do premier flavored water. For Snacks I have different broths & strained soups! 1 Bastian reacted to this

I just started my soft foods on Thursday, and then last night - just for a moment, but still - I forgot about the "30 minutes before and after" and had a sip of tea right before I started my little bit of Cream of Wheat. I immediately was like "D'OH!" but it was okay I guess bc it had only been a little sip. Still, it kinda scared me. What I'm doing now is starting my phone timer 30 minutes before I know I should eat, to stop drinking. Then when done eating I set my phone timer for another 30 minutes to let me know I can drink liquids again. Hope that helps! I too use my timer too! I find it’s a great tool 2 CrowLuv and Bastian reacted to this

Ice is not friendly to me, I can do sugar free popsicles but not ice chips, I'm sipping constantly on Water too because I'm terrified of getting dehydrated. 1 Krimsonbutterflies reacted to this

If you’re having intense cravings for food like pizza that you can’t fight, you should talk to your surgeon and nutritionist. It was not a slice perse . It was a 4x4 slice of thin crust. It was out of necessity instead of a craving due to being stuck at work(working fire) and that is all they brought us. I chewed it well and tolerated it fine. You’re so sweet for checking in! Yesterday was better, I really pushed myself to get as much in as possible and I think I did better. I definitely hit that spot where I feel good to take another small sip then boom, the next tiny sip is a big mistake. 1 Krimsonbutterflies reacted to this

I still drink through out the night so that helps. Each day it gets a little easier. : ) 1 Krimsonbutterflies reacted to this
Lbtnew 89 Posted September 2, 2019 (edited) Congrats to all of us August sleeves! We did it, now that it's officially September I mentally feel it's behind me. Mentally yes lol but my stomach tells me different. I was sleeved 8/15 still on stage 2 so yogurt and farina are the only nondrinkables I've had. I move to stage 3 on 9/5 and can't wait to have cottage cheese, pureed veggies and ricotta. Does anyone have the ricotta bake recipe link ? I understand we all had different protocols for pre surgical diet due to our BMI, weight, individual health issues etc. But I'm so confused as to how all our post op diets vary ???? Even on my next stage I am still not allowed scrambled eggs, only soft and poached which I detest. I guess each surgeon has their own philosophy but I feel most on the boards have been offered so much more. I'm dreaming of scrambled eggs, refried Beans, lentil Soup etc. But like I said stage 3 starts later this week which will be 3 weeks post op and it's just purees, cottage cheese and ricotta that will be new for me Edited September 2, 2019 by Lbtnew Spelling 1 Krimsonbutterflies reacted to this

dsan0696 4 Posted September 2, 2019 12 days post op (surgery 8/21) Question......I seem to be able to drink my Water normally now, no concern of slow sips. Are others like that too? I’m still full liquids so most goes through fast, but I’ve not had any feeling of fullness or anything like that. im assuming maybe that starts when food is introduced??? If anyone had told me that would be possible 1 week post OP, I would have argued! You feel the restriction more on solids so don't worry, you had surgery and you have a tool. Can't finish 1/2 cup of food without stopping in the middle and finishing hours later.Cheers 🧡[emoji176]Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Before I had the surgery, I had a very very weak bladder , that made life quite difficult. Had to take tablets and everything . Now, It’s gone !! Don’t have to take tablets anymore , so none of the nasty side effects I used to get , and life is so much easier, plus and I got back a little bit of lost self esteem . SO looking forward to a life of no longer being overweight 😀 All the very best of luck everyone ! 1 1 Krimsonbutterflies and Deedee12 reacted to this
bethow 114 Posted September 3, 2019 I was running behind schedule and was afraid I was going to be late to my post op appointment. I arrived five minutes before my appointment. I advised the medical assistant that my blood pressure was probably goin g to be through the roof. She took my blood pressure and it was 103/71. I have never, ever had a blood pressure reading that low. I am on three blood pressure medications. I have been monitoring my BP all week and they are consistently in the one hundred over high sixties or low seventies. I had heard that many people stopped meds after surgery but I was never expecting it to happen so fast. I had anticipated having my surgery in February but some unforeseen circumstances caused me to have to wait and I did not have my surgery until August 19th. My last visit with my PCP I had managed to lose 27 pounds. At my pre-op appointment had managed to lose another 8 pounds. Then with the two weeks of pre-surgical liquid diet and the two weeks of post surgical liquid diet, I have lost a total of 67 pounds. I haven't been this light in at least 25 years! Today for the first time since my surgery, I was able to ride my recumbent bike for a full thirty minutes. It is amazing to me that I feel so wonderful after such a short recovery period. 3 mr.sean, Panda333 and Deedee12 reacted to this
