I had my surgery on 4/18. I was driving by 4/23 and have driven every day since. I feel tired but mostly normal. I still have pain, sitting on the couch is really hard. I started to feel hungry a few days ago but I'm still on full liquids. From reading the other posts i feel very blessed.

Did anyone else have it kind of easy?

Had my surgery 4/24 & Yea I’m feeling pretty good. No trouble getting in my liquids, going to bathroom regularly. Was getting a lil suspicious actually, bc I thought it was going to be worse. Still sore and tender but I haven’t needed pain meds since they stopped giving them to me in the hospital. I feel blessed.

Had my surgery 4 1/2 months ago, no complications, no pain, no nausea, no problems.

I just joined today and feel very lucky! I had VSG 4/24 and came home 4/25.

I have zero pain, nausea, discomfort, etc. I'm able to drink plenty of fluids and today started Full Liquids! I feel full and have lost 18lbs since the surgery! I hope I don't have a set back! Seems too good to be true right now!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
