I want to Celebrate the fact that I am 1/2 way to my goal weight! I think back on all those damn Weight Watcher's 5 lbs bookmarks and 10 pound stars and want to... FLIP 'EM OFF! haha... I am actually going to be to my half way point soon.

Any ideas on how to celebrate my half way point? I want to do something for myself. I was thinking a pedicure and get my hair 'did'. ??

Celebrate with me, please!

I think any weight loss is appropriate to Celebrate. Every pound contributes to the ultimate goal. (Can you tell....I'll use any excuse to reward myself) lol. I can't wait until I reach the halfway mark. Congrats on your halfway point. You should do something really nice for yourself. Maybe you should splurge and spend a whole day at the spa pampering yourself. You deserve it. Keep up the good work.

Congratulations on getting down to the half-way point! If I was you I would splurge on a really fine bottle of perfume, perhaps something by Chanel, and I would wear it everyday. This would remind me of just how far I have already come.

I was thinking about getting a babysitter and staying home to clean the house. Is that weird? haha

Hey...whatever makes you happy. For me, cleaning house would be more of a punishment than a reward. Grrrr.....I hate to clean.

I have lots of mini goals, and I've celebrated some, and let some others go by without much more than recognition.

I didn't vote in the poll, because EVERY pound is a victory for me. Even when I don't believe my eyes when I get on the scale, and it shows me a lower number than I've seen in a LONG time.

My biggest celebration to date, though is when I got into a smaller size pair of pants that I didn't expect to fit me yet. I remember running through the house and actually jumping on the bed screaming at my still sleeping husband, "LOOK!!!! DO YOU SEE WHAT I'M WEARING?????? DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT SIZE THESE ARE???????" I was SO excited. At that moment, I couldn't have cared what the scale said.

Congrats on making it half way!

I voted 10% - any weight loss with the band is worth celebrating because in many cases and with reasonable effort, its weight that will never come back.

I voted 100% for the BIG celebration. I do Celebrate all the little victories (scale and NSV's) along the way.

I have committed to buying one outfit at each size rather than looking dumpy in too big of clothing all the time.

I buy 5-7 outfits at every other size to save money. Mom had a bunch of items at my next size down so I've saved myself money on the next size (which I'm almost into!! woohoo) I've always had an extensive wardrobe so just these few of outfits is REALLY hard to deal with. Thank God that my shirts fit longer and I can have a few extras of those.

I've hit 1/2 this past week as well. I honestly cannot afford to Celebrate in any significant way. I know that I want the bodybugg but it's out of range at this time.

My big celebration comes when I get to goal. New wardrobe, fitted fabulous leather coat (drool) and whatever else I can come up with at the time.

Hi All:

I just realized that I'm halfway too. I haven't updated my ticker, but I've lost 83 of 164 that I want to lose. I think I've just finished the easier half as it's been getting harder now that I weigh less.

Keep up all of the good work everyone!

Sue

Hi Sue, where do you live? I have been banded for a year and half. I am considered a slow average lose at 1 lb per week. Right now I had a slight unfill because I wanted to eat during the Holidays. I'm down 65 lbs from surgery and 100 from my height weight a few years ago. Time really flies with surgery. Just remember that restriction along with some exercise is key to losing the weight. Good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
