Almost 5 weeks out and feeling constantly nauseous

Recommended Posts

So I started on soft foods... and ever since I have been so nauseous like morning sickness lasting all day. TMI after 3 months finally got my period. My body just feels terrible overall feeling weak, so emotional, and tired. I am trying to be active but when I walk and such my heart starts to race like crazy. Idk if it is just me everyone I know seems to be doing fine post-surgery, but I've been struggling bad. I don't even care about losing weight at this point I just want to feel better. Even drinking Water is hard, its like I am regressing rather than progressing. anyone else experience this?

My surgery was 3/18 and yes I've been experiencing the same thing. I've started on soft foods and cannot tolerate much. I stick to shakes, creamed Soups with milk, yogurt and chicken salad. I vomit almost everything else up. It's really hard to eat anything honestly. I've had nausea lately also, mostly in the morning. My energy is starting to get a little better. I get very dizzy when I stand up and now I'm getting a really bad fluttering in my chest. It has been getting better - very sloooowly though lol. I just keep reminding myself to be patient.

I am 3 weeks post op and I have had that same feeling the past week two weeks. The dr just keeps telling me to eat or drink slower. I am taking tiny sips and drinking slow. I feel so nauseous that I am not getting my recommended Protein or Water because I feel so sick. The dr finally prescribed me some anti nausea pills, which have helped some. Hoping you find relief soon, not feeling well sucks!

Hi. I had my surgery on April 9 and ever since I have been drinking the 2 shakes a day I feel nauseous before I finish and sometimes don’t finish. It takes like an hour to subside, and I also have trouble drinking my Water because of this feeling. I still feel weak and run down which makes my walking goal each day hard to reach. I just want to feel some energy again. Hope you are feeling better.

So maybe part of the weakness could be not enough Protein? ?

Are you guy's possibly losing too fast from not enough calories taken in that can cause you to be dehydrated. Which causes weakness, nausea and tiredness. Be careful and keep your Dr.in the loop.Don't think you are being a nuisance or a whinner.
Take care of yourself

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
