A great line from one of my Motivation apps.
I just found your 👃 nose, it was right in the middle of my business!
Shame they don't realise things are on a need to know basis, if they don't know already, than surprise, THEY DON'T NEED TO KNOW!

Hey guys,
Can I ask what you told your co-workers as to why you were on a special diet or why/what surgery you were having?
You see where I work there are a couple of “bitchy” girls who like to analyse your lunch at the table and pass remarks on everything. For example I have my 17 stone self sitting at the lunch table with a salad and they’ll be like ‘is that all your eating?!’ Or if I get up and buy some chocolate from the vending machine they are like ‘good woman!!!’ It rattles me so much, they just love having me there at the fat girl!

To be honest I am dreading having to dodge their constant enquiries. I don’t owe them ANY excuses but I just know what I will be up against -_- ANY advice would be super appreciated :) thank you!

Just smile and nod and be satisfied that you know in your own mind what's going on... you are getting healthy and they really don't deserve or need to know why or how or any of the details.

Don't let their words wound you.

Or, you could just tell them to 'p*ss off'.

My co - workers Aunt had the surgery and was in surgery 2 weeks later because she ate a large slice of pizza.. SOOO.. my co-worker believes 1: I will need emergency surgery at some point. 2: I will fail miserably.. it just motivates me to prove the nay sayers wrong.. I’ve lost 64 lbs since mid January 19.. surgery date was 2/4/19 and I have kept on track which totally blows my mind .. who is his new person anyway!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
