Here are my 11 day post op pics. I am still very swollen and have some additional bruising. It is strange not having to decide to wear things under or over my "flap"

Oh Neal I am just SO jealous right now. You must be wanting to just stand in front of the mirror looking at your FLAT tummy all day!

You look AMAZING!!!!

About the over/under the flap thing - haha. I still reach to wash under mine every time I'm in the shower. I wonder when that'll stop!

Good job Neal. You've done wonderfully.

Neil: You've got some impressive bruises going there! Let's compare bruises in a few weeks, k? How's your blood pressure and energy levels? Is your cold still causing you a lot of grief? When do you have to go back to work? Speak to us man!

Neal

YOU LOOK GREAT!! I am so glad to see you are not hunched over in pain! You look fantastic. Congrats!!

Thanks for the encouragement :)

I just got back from my 2nd post op appointment and got my drains out. What a relief. It didn't hurt at all, but felt very strange. I got a little twinge up near my ribs. Its hard to believe the tubes went from my thighs up to near my ribs. The Dr said one more week in the binder. Normally she wants 3 weeks, which would be Monday, but she wants me to wear it one week post drains to makes sure everything comes together and no pockets form to collect Fluid. I can handle one more week icon_smile.gif

I took the pain pump out about 6 or 7 days post op. My Dr said i could do it. The tubes are very thin and not stitched in, just taped on.

Ok, some updated pics:

Here is an old pic that I found a week post op from my lapband surgery. I took it for the scar thread on LBT. Notice how my belly hangs over the sink and where my scars are compared to where they are now.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
