Whosthatgirl?! 23 Posted April 22, 2019 Anybody with Hashimotos that can share your success or struggles with the sleeve? I travel today to Vegas and will be sleeved on Thursday, 4/25 at Blossom Bariatrics. Hashimotos plus menopause has made it impossible to lose weight- despite diet, exercise, medical weight loss drugs. I’m so hopeful that this will provide the missing tool. I’m not afraid of pain or hard work. I have lost 26 pounds in the last 5 weeks (only needed to do 2 weeks of preop diet but I thought I’d start as soon as they gave me the diet). I’ve done 2 Protein Shakes and one lean and green meal a day. Maybe averaged 700 calories a day. Anyway I’d love to hear your experiences!HW: 244CW: 218GW: 1405’6”Age: 48 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this
GradyCat 3,695 Posted April 22, 2019 I don't have Hashimotos specifically, but I do have hypothyroidism and menopause (I'm 54) so I can relate to your struggles with weight loss. Good job on starting your pre-op diet early; it'll help you get used to how to eat after surgery. I've done fine with the sleeve, I'm 4 months post-op and have lost 35 pounds and have another 50 to go.
Whosthatgirl?! 23 Posted April 22, 2019 So my current weight is obviously 218, not 118 (Freudian slip! 😆). But I don’t know how to edit my post so....

Whosthatgirl?! 23 Posted April 22, 2019 Anyone else? I’m so hopeful- but at the same time I have this nagging feeling that my thyroid issue will be holding me back.
Frustr8 7,886 Posted April 22, 2019 And guys maybe I will be joining you in Hashimoto Land. Still testing, still no official confirmation, no announcement, no Frustr8 you definitely have______, but it will come, this I believe. Remember if Doctors got everything right, then it would no longer be called " practice", would it? I have urologist this afternoon, heart scans, fun and games Wednesday, see the ENT doctor Friday and next Tuesday see my Bariatric surgeon, unless he sends Valerie, his chief Nurse- Practitioner as proxy. And thus ends April for me!
