Brent701 438 Posted April 18, 2019 I start my pre op diet on Monday and have been having Protein Shakes to prep. The thought of the number of Protein shakes I am going to have to drink over the next few weeks/months has started to give me anxiety. My concerns are when I have to go to 4oz and sip slowly its going to taste awful from just sitting there. I am mentally preparing to get through these major changes but already feeling obstacles. GradyCat 3,695 Posted April 18, 2019 Have you experimented with different Protein Drinks? I use GNC 25 Leak shake, chocolate flavor, pre-made and it's wonderful.
Brent701 438 Posted April 25, 2019 Finally got to try the Unjury unflavored. I tried making the high Protein SF Jello, while barely tolerable I am struggling to get it down. My level of anxiety with this is getting worse.

Get a cool cup to put the carton in or an ozark trail tumbler that will keep it cold for a long time 👍🏻 1 Sunnilicious reacted to this
ErinshayWV 20 Posted April 25, 2019 I got the smallest Yeti tumbler, double walled insulation, will keep your milky-shake cool for hours.😉
ErinshayWV 20 Posted April 25, 2019 Also, they make clear Protein drinks now, Isopure, nectar, Premier, which don’t give you that sometimes gag-reaction to milkshakes.
Brent701 438 Posted April 25, 2019 (edited) Thanks so much I will look. Can you be more specific which one? Edited April 25, 2019 by Brent701
Brent701 438 Posted April 26, 2019 I tried the no fat no sugar added pudding and it tastes so much better. I won’t be able to have it the first few days while on clear liquid so I will just have to tough it out. surprised overall how well I have handled eating so few calories this week. 1 DanaC84 reacted to this
Frustr8 7,886 Posted April 26, 2019 Do try around, I still have at least one a day 8 months out. for multiple reasons. None are perfect, so find some you can tolerate, I'm currently rock8ng Ensure High Protein Max in strawberry but sure others might not, agree but to me it tastes like Nestle Quik Strawberry. I can't have chocolate so that limits me on a lot of the brands. Got so weary of vanilla, a lot of people flavor their shakes with Torani sugar- free syrups. $4 a pop extra? Too rich for my Social Security budget to buy more than one or 2.
