Cameo325 27 Posted April 15, 2019 Wondering what everyone's experience has been with taking your prescribed medications immediately after your surgery. I am on two different antidepressants and can't take several weeks off from taking them right after my sleeve surgery. Has anyone had any experience with this? Surgeon said if it goes down the esophagus it will fit in the stomach. But I don't think he meant the day after surgery? Any words of advise are welcome. Tereza 3 Posted April 15, 2019 Hi, I take one and my doctor had me take it up to Surgery and started back three days after. Just make sure they know what medication it is. 1 Cameo325 reacted to this
GradyCat 3,695 Posted April 15, 2019 I started taking my prescription medication as soon as I got home from the hospital and had no trouble swallowing them. The surgeon explained that they'll still absorb 1 Cameo325 reacted to this
Briswife15 890 Posted April 15, 2019 I take two psych meds, and was told that as long as they were not extended release I could take them right away. I've had no problems taking them, and they seem just as effective as begire surgery. Im 19 days post surgery. Colorado Cowgirl 170 Posted April 15, 2019 I cut mine in half. That seems to work but I wait 10 minutes between pills. 1 KatieMc reacted to this
