angie_is_losing_it 90 Posted April 15, 2019 I'm on week 5. Soft foods permitted. But I take two or three tiny bites and I have to burp and then I don't feel like eating more...then food gets cold... then I'm hungry again in about an hour and the whole process starts over again! When can I just eat and not be in this horrible cycle??Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app 1 FluffyChix reacted to this
Too many kids 16 Posted April 15, 2019 For me I needed to burp discreetly after every mouthful to begin with, even sips of Water. It just felt like it was making more room each time. I still feel better if I burp now, 3 months in. You are still early days so just take it slowly, chew really well and enjoy the ride 😉 1 angie_is_losing_it reacted to this
GradyCat 3,695 Posted April 15, 2019 I'm on solid foods and get "hungry" about every 3 hours after being able to eat just small amounts. It's a lifestyle change I guess. It does get better when you get to solid foods though. 1 angie_is_losing_it reacted to this
Too many kids 16 Posted April 15, 2019 I used to use 4oz pots and have about 6 meals a day and definitely not eat for at least 2 hours prior to going to bed. I’m really lucky in the fact that I’ve never felt hungry. I’m sure you’ll get through it, just very difficult at this time. Keep sipping the Water which will fill your pouch and keep you hydrated 1 angie_is_losing_it reacted to this
zombieskayer 84 Posted April 16, 2019 I'm on solid foods and I'm hungry every two hours because I still can only do about 2oz at a time. Just keep hydrated and eat when you can. 1 angie_is_losing_it reacted to this
Avery's Mom 315 Posted April 16, 2019 just now at 4 months out starting to feel actual hunger. the burping thing continues depending on what I eat. small bites/sips is the key. CHEW CHEW CHEW 1 angie_is_losing_it reacted to this
Swimmer 199 Posted April 18, 2019 Well at seven years out I still have that pattern. I eat very little at a time and am routinely hungry again in a couple of hours. Stick to healthy choices. Eating will never be the same way it was and that is a good thing. It feels like punishment now, but after a little bit of time you just don't think about it and accept it. Your focus changes to other things besides food and life gets pretty great. 2 NYC_PAULA and angie_is_losing_it reacted to this

Try to fill your time with things and pursuits other than food. Concentrate on hydration. Being hydrated helps you eat more and makes your tool "slippery" so that food goes down easier. But you are still early out. Just relax into it. Don't push progression too quickly and stay the course. If you need to eat every 2hours, do it. Eventually you will heal and be able to eat WAY too much and will worry about that!
