Marissa 3 Posted April 9, 2019 Hey everyone. I had a quick question. I know that you have to get cleared by a psychologist to have the surgery but I’m bit worried. 3 years ago I was hospitalized for 6 months for an eating disorder. I was restricting and purging, and over exercising. In those 6 months I lost about 100 pounds but when I was released from the hospital I gained back double that weight in 3 years. Will they not do surgery on me because I have a eating disorder history. All answers are appreciated.Thankyou, Marissa
Briswife15 890 Posted April 9, 2019 Hi there. In my past I was Anorexic. I talked with the surgeon and psychologist about this, and neither were too worried. They suggested seeing a therapist. I think it is more common than we think. I just had surgery 12 days ago, so it was not a bar to surgery. Take care of yourself and best of luck to you!!Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app 2 FluffyChix and KimTriesRNY reacted to this
