Prestonandme 107 Posted April 7, 2019 Some posters have commented that post-menopausal women (I am one) have a more difficult time losing weight and do so at a slower pace. Is this true? Has anyone any personal experiences, advice, or successes to relate? 1 Orchids&Dragons reacted to this

I’m post menopause and my weight loss was fast. I see others that have lost at a slower rate. It’s ok to lose slowly. What matters is losing the weight and getting healthy, Right? 1 Orchids&Dragons reacted to this
Neversaynever 268 Posted April 7, 2019 I am going through the menopause right now. I lost slowly in comparison to some but others may have lost slower than me, its all relative. I do know I have lost almost 100lbs since starting last year and I feel fantastic! 3 1 DanaC84, Orchids&Dragons, BrighterSide and 1 other reacted to this
GradyCat 3,696 Posted April 7, 2019 I'm post-menopausal and mine is going what I would consider to be slowly, but I have to keep reminding myself that slow loss is better than no loss at all. 4 Neversaynever, Healthy_life2, DanaC84 and 1 other reacted to this
catwoman7 11,221 Posted April 7, 2019 people lose at all different rates for all different reasons (age, gender, starting BMI, metabolic rate, whether or not you lost a lot of weight before surgery). I'm sure menopause can be a factor. I was post-menopausal when I had surgery, but I don't know how much of a role that played. I also lost 57 lbs before surgery, and that likely played a part, too. Yes - I was a slow loser, but I was very committed to my program, esp that first year, and I lost all my excess weight. 3 Orchids&Dragons, DanaC84 and Healthy_life2 reacted to this
Orchids&Dragons 9,047 Posted April 7, 2019 I was 58 when I had my surgery. Lost over 100 lbs. the first year and hit goal (122 lbs) shortly thereafter. Don't let age be your deciding factor. 3 MIZ60, DanaC84 and Healthy_life2 reacted to this
MIZ60 1,291 Posted April 7, 2019 I had surgery at age 60 and I have lost slowly and am still working on it. My health has dramatically improved and I feel so much better and younger than I did this time last year. It is hard sometimes not to compare myself with others but this journey is different for everyone. 3 Healthy_life2, DanaC84 and Orchids&Dragons reacted to this

Had to have hardware from my surgical repair of humerus removed, been b.s. 9 years and I it kind of turned against me, some speculation that could have caused the pneumonia, a pocket of something. While ortho in there he decided to fix up my rotator cuff instead of of bringing me back for another surgery in a couple months. Yeeouch, I know someone who's getting a 5 inch lump of coal in his stocking this year!
