2Bsmaller18 436 Posted April 5, 2019 My first period a few weeks post op was horrendous. Comparable to after delivering a child. I read this is normal but my question is does this last just 1-2 cycles or does it take 6 months plus to return to your pre op normal?
MegPRN 204 Posted April 5, 2019 My periods have been more regular/predictable. I think I have less cramping now than I did before surgery/weight loss, but the blood loss is horrific. It's a lot heavier than it ever was before. I also have terrible cramping mid-cycle when I'm ovulating, which is new. I had to leave work early last week because I was worried I had appendicitis or something. I'm seeing my OB/GYN in early May to discuss an endometrial ablation or some other option to reduce the bleeding.

FancyChristine15 810 Posted April 8, 2019 Mine have been all over the place since surgery, but I also started birth control around the same time as surgery, so I put my body through a lot of changes at one time.
I Am Groot 73 Posted April 8, 2019 I'm dreading my first post-op period, which is due at any time. It was supposed to start the day of surgery, but....**shrugs** My pre-op periods were never too pleasant, so I'm freaking out a little bit about the first on post-op. curtains 12 Posted April 8, 2019 My first period after surgery came on day 4-5 post op. It was two weeks early! Doc said the blood thinner shots might have caused it. 1 I Am Groot reacted to this
