Trellunit 49 Posted April 5, 2019 Just started my second week after surgery and I have to say my only issue I’m dealing with is this freakin Gas. Is there anything I can take to help with this? This is my only complaint and it is very annoying. My recovery has been great besides the gas. Help please
deichburg 1 Posted April 5, 2019 I was the same way the first month or two. Lots of gas and acid reflex. I did try gas-x which helped some. It should get better as you progress. I had my surgery 1/15/19 and I’m currently feeling great. Gas has gone way down and the reflux did too. In my opinion, the first 8 weeks sucked but now I’m so happy I did the surgery. Trellunit 49 Posted April 5, 2019 Okay got to get my some gas-x and hopefully this will help a little looks like you just have to recover and adjust until your body gets rid of it. Man 8 weeks this is the only thing that sucks and is annoying 1 1 Wanda247 and ProudGrammy reacted to this

Trellunit 49 Posted April 5, 2019 Yeah that isn’t working for me at all I’m off for the next 2 weeks I pound out walking everyday since surgery on 3/27/19. Hr after surgery 10 laps around the hospital before leaving the next day and pounding out walking around mall and grocery stores it ain’t working I guess I just have to keep at it but it is very annoying especially when your doing what your supposed to be doing. These phase needs to hurry up and get over with. I got so tired from walking I almost fell out with no energy 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this

koketika 33 Posted April 5, 2019 If the walking doesn't work, have you timed your liquid intake. The more often I take sips of Water, the gas I tend to make.
Trellunit 49 Posted April 5, 2019 Okay this I have not done so please explain to me and this maybe causing some of my problems. What exactly should I be doing and how?
koketika 33 Posted April 5, 2019 So when I got home post op, I keep a timer and made sure to consume something every hour. Now I'm stage two and I have my "meals " at 4 hour intervals, but in between at the 2 hour mark , I have Protein Shake, at least 4 oz. After I eat at the 45 minute mark, give or take, I take a few sips of Water until the next 30 pre meal mark. After dinner, at the 1.5 hour mark I start my final shake to complete my Protein intake and I alter it with water, as sips until I go to bed.
