Boldilocks 312 Posted April 4, 2019 I have had no energy at all yesterday and today! I'm 8 weeks out. Average Water intake is 108oz, Protein range 78-128oz, calories 650-800. Have been walking every day, getting about 7500 steps daily right now. Pooping every other day, taking all my Vitamins and minerals. What gives? Yesterday and today I hit what felt like a physical wall - like I just couldn't walk another step. A bit like the early post-surgery days, actually. I'm baffled - anyone else had this?? 1 1 FluffyChix and GreenTealael reacted to this
2Bsmaller18 436 Posted April 4, 2019 I’m tired if I stay home and don’t do a lot. If I am out and about I’m fine. On another note, are you drinking Protein Shakes? I’m impressed with your Protein intake. If I try to get protein from other sources my calories go up a lot and I can barely get 60grams in. 2 GreenTealael and FluffyChix reacted to this

Well, I was home because I primarily work from home - but I was out and about a lot both days. And my period isn't due for 8 days - forgot to add that. No, I've been off the Protein Shakes for a month now - which is funny considering that they were my Breakfast of choice for about 7 years prior to surgery. I'm not much of a breakfast person, so now I usually have non fat Greek yoghurt or non fat cottage cheese with a scoop of unflavoured protein in it. You should definitely be impressed with my protein intake! I'm a vegetarian, and let me tell you, it's not easy being green when it comes to getting the nutrition after surgery! I use this unflavoured Protein Powder at least once a day - if not with breakfast, then mixed into a veggie chili or veggie curry at dinner.< /span> 2 GreenTealael and jenifaoh reacted to this
Orchids&Dragons 9,047 Posted April 5, 2019 I hit periodic waves of low energy for several months. I think it was my body protesting to all the unkind things the surgeon did to it and to the severe change in my caloric intake. There may also have been a certain amount of metabolic revenge going on, too. It is normal. Some people do a lot better if they get extra B Vitamins, especially a B-12 shot. You might consider that. 3 GreenTealael, Boldilocks and FluffyChix reacted to this
gabybab 696 Posted April 5, 2019 I'm not sure if you have had post labs, but it might explain further your fatigue. I went to the Dr because I was so fatigued and they gave me a B12 shot and I was 100% better by the second day. I worked for 6 hours doing yardwork and planting. Mayne it was a placebo effect, but I don't think so. I'm going next week and am inquiring about it again. Good luck! 3 GreenTealael, FluffyChix and Boldilocks reacted to this
FluffyChix 17,418 Posted April 5, 2019 I am so sorry you're feeling this. I did as well. I'm not a vegetarian or vegan and ate meats. But on testing, they did find that I had deficiencies in some of my B Vitamins. You might see if you can get your vitamins tested and do a chemistry panel? Also, I'm told that GENEPRO isn't the best Protein source out there...that their actual protein counts are suspect and it may not be the right types of amino acids/proteins? Just food for thought! 3 Boldilocks, GreenTealael and Bari_KS reacted to this

Boldilocks 312 Posted April 5, 2019 Hi all - thanks for replying! I found the culprit - my period started today! No one was more surprised than me! Me?? A perfect 28 day cycle?? It had been pretty regular at 35 days for the last couple of years, but before that it could be anywhere from 18 to 100+ days. I have no doubts that the surgery is working on my hormones and metabolism. I feel better today - cramps and achey back, but energy level good. My B12 levels were off the chart high at my 6 week follow up - my dr and I actually laughed about it. D and Iron a little low, but higher than they used to be. Thanks for the heads-up about GENEPRO. I'm not using it as my main source and try to make sure that I get 60g a day outside of it. But I'll keeping looking for good supplements.< /span> 1 GreenTealael reacted to this

And would you believe it, I looked back 2 weeks and lo and behold I had some pain that I labelled 'ovulation?' and was hungrier than usual. If my body really starts behaving like a normal person's, this is going to take some getting used to! orionova 27 Posted April 6, 2019 Just a heads up. That's actually too much Protein. I was getting in that much as well, and my dietician and surgeon both told me that the high amount of protein was the reason that I stalled for so long. When I cut down to 60-80 grams a day, I started losing weight again.
