what I dont understand is how i can fit it all in. Isn't my pouch suppose to restrict me?and why am i starving?? If I was able to eat only 3 meals a day then I would not have had the surgery to begin with. I am starving all day, why?

Why?

I’m not sure if you are understanding what we are saying or if it’s something you don’t want to hear right now. Carbs will cause hunger. Soft foods will not fill your MGB. They slide right through. Dense Protein and vegetables will help fill your stomach and help with hunger.

Our advice is falling on deaf ears. Your nutrition’s plan is high carb and not to log your food. We can see why you can eat as much as you do, we can see the foods that have you hungry and starving.

What does your Nutritionist want you to do? Just continue with that and see how it goes for a while...

@FluffyChix with regards to your comment about how much men or women should lose according to your ‘stats’.

Whats true about one person is not necessarily the same to all.

Can I ask you... do you want help? You seem to be genuinely asking for help in your first post but you seem very resistant when people are giving you incredibly sound and knowledge based advice. I bet if you followed the advice of eating dense Proteins and giving up the sugar spiking (though healthy unprocessed) carbs, you'd start see results. Why not give it a try?

I am very surprised by the comments here. I do not eat canned, or processed foods, all natural, always organic, and always prepared freshly for me.

That's because many people on this board are very "anti-carb". Fresh, organic, not processed... doesn't count. If it contains "carbs" it's considered "unhealthy" by many users.

If I ate only 600-800 calories I would be starving.

Completely understandable. Even 1200 kcal is not really much for a male your height.

Did you weigh and track the food you eat by any chance to see how much calories you're really eating in a day? I know it's a real hassle but maybe try to track your intake for a week as accurate as possible?

As for the amount of food. TBH, I can't really remember how much I was able to eat 6 months after MGB. I'm about three years out now of my revision and eating two bananas in one sitting is no problem at all. However, I don't feel hungry for a whole while after eating them.

No, it's because if you eat more calories than you burn, no matter the source, you will gain weight.

I could eat Doritos and wash it down with Coke everyday and lose wight. Or I could eat "fresh, organic, non processed" fruits, grains, dairy, meats, and gain weight. Weight loss is (nearly) all about quantity, not quality.

You continually put forth this false premise that everyone on this forum is anti-carb.

The facts are @MGBinIsrael is currently eating a relatively high carb, high-ish calorie diet. He is unhappy with his stalled weight loss, and lack of satiety. He asked for help, but when given solid advice he either ignores or argues against it.

Based on what calculation exactly? You did a calculation in MFP without even knowing how big these bananas or papayas are. Or how much these meat balls weigh.

When I look at the nutritional values of "banana" at CRON-O-Meter the first thing I notice is this: there are five different sizes of bananas alone listed and depending on how big the fruit is, the amount of nutrients vary big time and this is only one food of many.

Unless the food is really weighed everything is just a guess.

The facts are we don't even know how much calories he is eating and neither does he because so far he didn't track his food properly for at least a short period of time (at least it seems like he didn't do that).

All we can offer is our experiences and opinions. ALL opinions are valued. Even if we dont sgree.

The fact is if you eat over your weight loss calories you gain weight.

Nobody on here is anti carb - these are clearly healthy foods however they will spike your blood sugar and leave you wanting more and leave you crashing very shortly after. Not to mention they also slide through your pouch. The solid advice given to us by bariatric surgeons is to eat dense Protein first before anything else.

Who are these people that are on a no carb diet @summerset?

Try drinking more calorie free items when hunger happens and its not a meal time, also if you make the ice lolly your self from a calorie drink you can eat a lot of those.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
