A papaya is a healthy fruit, it is the size of an orange. With lemon juice on top, it is a delicious meal. Advised by my nutritionist. Papayas contain an enzyme called papain that aids digestion. Papaya is also high in Fiber and Water content, both of which help to prevent constipation and promote regularity and a healthy digestive tract.

I am very surprised by the comments here. I do not eat canned, or processed foods, all natural, always organic, and always prepared freshly for me.

Try papaya enzyme tablets instead...

You can over eat healthy foods too, unfortunately. Check with your nutritionist.

But you do want to continue weight loss, correct? Try some of the suggestions given. They are crafted with good intentions. Promise. 💜

I understand you are new to this site. Your success is dependent on you and the choices you make. Eat the way you currently are and gain or log your food and stay within your calories, Protein, and carbohydrate ratios to lose the weight.

fruit is organic but has a lot of carbohydrates. You are asking for help and ignoring the amount of carbohydrate and calories you eat. 1802 calories – 74 grams protein – 267 carbohydrates - 51 fats.

This has been really good for me to see. I am vegetarian and I have a tendency to fill up on carbs, but I can totally see how easy it is to do. I'm going to try to get more Protein in my diet too - carbs spike your blood sugar and then you have a blood sugar drop, which is how you get that hungry feeling. You end up constantly chasing that high. I find it very easy to slip in to that cycle.

@MGBinIsraelNo one was purposefully being offensive by their advice or even by asking if this was a hoax. You posted your diet, which is very high in sugar and carbs, and then said you don't know why you're gaining weight. Unfortunately, we have had people come to this site with nothing better to do, and asked us ridiculous questions or just tried to start fights, so we're a little protective.

You asked for advice, and you have been given advice by people who are successfully losing weight or who have successfully lost weight and are keeping it off, and all you've done is defend your food choices that are causing you to gain weight. Take our advice or don't. All we can do is give advice, but you have to choose to accept it and do it. Best of luck to you.

@KCgirl061 thank you for the reply. My intake has been the same, nothing changed. My hunger is back, which is also unusual as its ONLY 6 Months from the surgery. Why am I gaining weight? Surgeon didn't really have much to add, neither did nutritionist. I figure to ask the community if anyone else has experienced a complete plateau and weight gain of 2kg only 6 months after surgery

Hunger isn't unusual. Mine returned 3 months out, fiercely. I had an 8 week stall, that started at 2 months out. A 2kg weight gain is only about 5lbs, right? I wouldn't stress about it yet. If you're eating and exercising like you're supposed to, it'll pick up again. I would up your exercise though. Maybe try circuit training and intense cardio, not just walking anymore (if you're physically able to).

Whoops - my bad for accidentally not seeing page 2. Yeah, I concur - a LOT of carbs. Track using a mobile tracker like Baritastic or MFP. I try to stay under 50g a day max, and I am only that high right now because of my workouts (although I am told I could go slightly higher, but don't feel the need to). I am also around 800 calories a day, MAX. And we are about the same length out from surgery. Tracking helps significantly!! The only fruit I allow myself at this point is kiwi and a few strawberries (I'll have some others if they come in a salad I order or something, though). They are lower in carb but still give me the carb boost I actually need from working out (and some added vitamins).

@FancyChristine15 I am not being defensive, two people here started causing me as a 'hoax'. My diet has made me lose 55 lbs so far, I have a proper nutritionist and with respect, I asked for input correct, but not be insulted.

I will continue to stick to what my surgeon and nutrionist recommend, I am on a 1,200 calorie diet, I am a 6'1 ft male, that is normal calorie intake for after MGB. So i do not know what people here are writing but respect the positive feedback and appreciate it greatly.

As for the negative, I don't care for it. thanks

If I ate only 600-800 calories I would be starving.

I am starving every day, like really starving.

@mousecat88 thank you for that!

Yes a 2kg gain is about 4.5lbs, which btw I went back on the scale and saw I dropped 1kg since writing this post.

I lost 55lbs by the same diet i been on since after surgery.

I'm sorry you don't have the same feeling of restriction. I really, really struggle to hit 800. My average is 500-600 now.

Maybe keep your calories the same, but switch out some of the more carb heavy things for Protein instead and see if that gives you a jumpstart! Then you won't be hungry, and cutting out some carbs.

I definitely panicked when I stalled for so long, but it started again.

@mousecat88 what really baffles me though, is how I can fit it all in. Isn't my pouch suppose to be small, how can I eat a bowl of porridge or a papaya and banana and a half hour later 2 yoghurts. I just dont understand.

I also eat 1200 calories a day, but I don't eat near the amount of carbs that you do, and I eat more Protein, and I'm not hungry at all. I eat 3 meals a day plus one high protein snack. If you switched your focus from fruit, crackers, pretzels, and other carbs to high protein foods, you wouldn't be as hungry.

Maybe (and I'm not a surgeon or anything) it's because some of those items are fairly liquid and pass through much quicker than a denser Protein would. oatmeal and yogurt probably pass through very quickly, leaving you hungrier sooner than say a piece of chicken would. I know every day I eat a greek yogurt for Breakfast at 8am, but by 9:30 I am needing a piece of Jerky because I am hungry again. But then the protein jerky tides me over until 12- 12:30.

@FancyChristine15 perhaps my diet was misunderstood. I am not eating pretzels all day and asking why am I gaining weight, lol.

Porridge for brunch and rixe cracker or tune or meat ball, what I dont understand is how i can fit it all in. Isn't my pouch suppose to restrict me?and why am i starving?? If I was able to eat only 3 meals a day then I would not have had the surgery to begin with. I am starving all day, why?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?
