covarrubia911 69 Posted April 2, 2019 well I did begin to have my gastric sleeve surgery on 11/05/2018. On the table .knocked out with anesthesia .Awaken by nurses telling me. They were not able to do the surgery. they informed me that they could not introduce the laroscopy where it needed to be to begin the surgery. The doctors said they tried for 45 minute. even called in ENT to try. Neck just wouldn't bend. (my neck is fused, due to spinal surgery due to polio} I was so extremely depressed. So I had to begin all over again. with a Doctor I was referred to. Dr. Katkhouda @ Keck USC. next week I complete my nutrition classes AGAIN. I'm scheduled again May 7th 2019. Please let it work this time. 7 2 1 nenes78, I Am Groot, shanza and 7 others reacted to this

elcee 3,341 Posted April 2, 2019 So sorry to hear that. I’m curious as to why they needed to bend your neck to do the op, none of my incisions are anywhere near my neck, or was it the breathing tubes that they were having problems with. Hope it all goes well this time

elcee 3,341 Posted April 6, 2019 I know that but the OP says she was out for 45 min while they were trying to introduce the laparoscope. If she was out for that long the breathing tubes shoud already have been in place.
Kristinqtpie 42 Posted April 6, 2019 @ elcee maybe they were doing the surgery endoscopic. I do know they do that in some cases.
Mychoice19 38 Posted April 7, 2019 Good luck with the right surgery on all should be well. Look at this way maybe this new Surgeon should actually be the one doing the surgery and not the other one.. sometime you never know I wish you keep the faith and stay encouraged!
