NFL Network and Cable TV battle!

Recommended Posts

This is making me crazy!!! I have Time Warner Cable, which has not resolved their battle with NFL Network. This means that I will not get to see the Thanksgiving Day games at home. I have watched my Dallas Cowboys plays every Thanksgiving for as long as I can remember and I am pissed off!

The government can go after Microsoft for years, when the public didn't ask them to; but they ignore the cable companies that take all choice away from the customers. This is just wrong! Why can't I order the 20 channels I want, and see what I want? Why do I need 800 channels???? We get gouged by cable companies every day - who is watching over them?

I totally agree. I'm pissed at paying $100 bucks a month for basic cable and internet, especially since I only watch a few of the channels. It sucks, completely. I usually watch the 4 big networks, Animal Planet, Discovery, food Network, Bravo, TLC, and A&E. I don't need the other forty or so channels and I don't like paying for them. If I could get satellite, I would, but my apartment manager only allows cable.

We have to get the extended cable because my DH loves the History Channel - it is about the only one he watches. Let me pick the 5-10 channels I want and pay for those.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
