❤ APRIL 2019 CHALLENGE❤

Okay so I love the idea of a goal board, but will have to create in May. Just zero time this week to make that happen.
However, speaking of goals, my goal for this April challenge was to come in at under 200 pounds, and today I barely squeaked in.

Honestly I didn’t think I would make it, but between Friday and this morning, 2 pounds magically fell off.

I have a few boards related to goals on Pinterest, one particularly for things I want to accomplish, new hobbies I want to try, etc. I also keep a "goal journal" where I can write in more depth about things that motivate me and what new actions I want to take. Now my next goal is to actually start DOING stuff and not just writing about what I want to do! :P

Amazing Team:

Goal boards can be digital or analogue!!!

As long as you are comfortable with the medium and it feels relatively low stress to make

AKA Pinterest for me 😍

I set a goal of 10lbs and lost 9. Close enough that I’m not bummed out.

Thank you to our wonderful hostess @GreenTealael for another wonderful month!! Bring on May 🥳🥳🥳

Surgery: VSG (just a little over 5 months post op, still losing...)

Starting weight: 146.4

Goals: Get to 135 lbs (which would mean a 100 lbs loss for me since October!) && increase strength training time/amount. Right now I do maybe 20-30 mins twice a week, I want to do more.

I almost made it. Almost.

Wanted to reach 135 lbs, but got down to 136.5 instead. Still, I lost 10.4 lbs for the calendar month of April, and I am totally fine with that 😎.

I didn't increase my strength training regularly this month either. There were a handful of times I went longer than 30 mins, but that was it. I really hate strength training 😒.

Thanks again @GreenTealael for doing these ♥️♥️♥️♥️

P.S. I reached my 6 month milestone on the 24th of this month! Still amazed at how fast it all went by. My post about it here:

I'm sorry. Squeaking in here. I feel like a failure. I never posted. I started at 296 and my goal was 280.

I'm 9 weeks out and have lost 48 pounds, but only 6 the last month.

I'm sorry, I'm not able to do the exercises like the ones posted. Not yet, at least.

In suffering from gout right now and waiting for dispatch health to come look at it this afternoon. For now I can't even walk without pain.

Congrats to everyone losing this month!

Do what you can, exercise components are additional not necessary to join. The challenges are to stay invested in your journey and self. You are absolutely NOT a failure. Don't forget it.

I guess 6 pounds is not a failure. I just expected more and was seriously scared I may not lose one more pound.

But I have never in my life lost 48 pounds. I would be happy with 6 pounds a month, because that's 72 pounds in one year and could get me closer to 180.

Thanks for the positive encouragement!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
