#3 Learn Something New: Ok, so I'm tired of spending money on eyelash extensions. I love them, as I don't feel the need to wear any mascara or eyeliner when I have them on. I wake up in the morning and bat my eyelashes in the mirror and feel beeee-u-ti-fuI (everyone should try it at least once...I did and was hooked, and I only get the natural looking kind, not the thick "glamour" ones). Anyway, I am an eye-rubber so I tend to rub those babies off prematurely and have to get refills, so the $$$ adds up (the Kid, on the other hand, managed to have her first one last for almost 4 months - she is definitely NOT an eye-rubber).

Anyhoo...so today, the something new I (actually the Kid and I) are going to learn is how to do lash lifts (i.e., lash perms) on my eyelashes with this kit I bought. I had lash lifts done before I was doing extensions, and the results are pretty good, not as good as extensions, but good enough; lifts are also less expensive than extensions. But...if I/we do it at home, its even cheaper! Cross your fingers that my lashes don't get fried. Or fall off. Or I go blind.

Okay, the 4th is Exercise, refresh my memory on what #3 is, want to do this in a successful manner, really be committed, now and in the future. These challenges make you freshen up your plans, and also you do feel a part of a group, even if our journeys differ we can wave at each other on the pathway.

Day 3 - Learn something new: On today's schedule are a couple of events at my church... one new (a talk from our Bishop) and one old favourite (Lenten Soup supper & prayer service). I'm interested to hear what the Bishop will have to say and hope that I will learn something new from him. :)

I’ve said earlier that I’ve gotten my paints out. Today I’m really trying to learn how to glaze in watercolor properly. A bit boring but very exciting and rewarding to me 🖌🎨

Ok, so I'm signed up for a course that begins in May that will increase my skills at work but will also be transformative for me. And today, at my follow up, I learned that I can take fibre supplements if I feel the need. They were very pleased with me so that made me feel good and one of my clients complimented me today.

And, I did my crunches and squats for the day! Even made it to the gym between the follow up and my first client at work today so that makes me feel good.

I'm loving the fitness challenge. The new thing I learned today was the correct form for a crunch. I've been watching basic videos on YouTube to make sure I'm doing exercises safely and correctly.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
