T2 diabeter before surgery, now glucose is 59, help

Recommended Posts

Just had gastric bypass on Wednesday so I'm 4 days out, and off all diabetes medication. I'm only on Clear Liquids and Protein Shakes, and they have very low sugar. How do I get my blood glucose up to at least 70?? If I eat too much sugar I'll have dumping syndrome. Any ideas?

I would suggest contacting your medical team for advice on this. They should be able to help you the best.

Thank you. My problem was that it was 7 pm on Sunday night, and hubs and I were really worried. No one to call. I had a shake with a little carbs and sugar, and brought it up without dumping. Will call my doc today, as it's still low.
