I will be 3 weeks post op on Tuesday! In the first week I lost 17 pounds and my weight hasn’t really moved since then! I’m discouraged! Is this normal or could I be doing something wrong??

Totally normal! It does suck, however. Your body is taking a time out to adjust to all the changes and maybe to let you know its a little ticked off at all the abuse. Just dig deep and stick with your plan and in a few more days the scale will start moving again.

If you took your measurements pre-op, now's a good time to check them. They often change when you're in a stall. If you haven't taken measurements before, now is a good time to start. Losing inches helps keep your spirits up when you're in a stall. Good luck!

do a search for the "three week stall". You'll find hundreds of posts on it. Happens to almost everyone.

It's normal to stall around Week 3 or 4. It sucks, but it's normal. Your body is still adjusting to everything that's been done to it and to your transition from liquids to soft foods

Hey all. First time posting here. I am 3 weeks post op. Been sitting at the same weight for almost a week. I'm really glad to hear about other people stalling. I feel like with my PCOS, in combination with my age (turning 34 this month), I've got a few strikes against me.

Was anybody else taken off Metformin and then stalled? I feel like being taken off Metformin coincided with my weight loss stall. I've been more active this week than (obviously) the past few weeks, so I really am searching for answers.

I am turning 33 and having surgery May 20 and am very worried about it. I don't know why I think 33 is old or late in the game to have surgery. I keep telling myself that I have actually tried and been successful many times.

I stalled on my second week , it’s really annoying , I kept looking at my book asking myself maybe I’m doing something wrong but I’m now on my third week and the scale is moving , everyone is different . My friend lost 50 lbs in a month and I’m on my third week with only 30 lbs down .

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
