Has anyone else seen this article?

I drink a Quest chocolate Milkshake Protein Shake every day...

Not to happy about this discovery. I really like the Quest products...

OMG, I sure hope not, heavy metals can be poisonous and I neednothing else " Heavy" in my life! Spent too too many years as Hefty, want to make it through Ample Sample and on to a mere armful. Maybe there will be guys not too senile to notice when it finally happens. Probably never will remarry but everyone deserves a friend or 2.

I wonder if they tested other Protein products as well. The article only lists powders. I'd be interested in learning about the bars, which I eat frequently to keep me full longer and satisfy my chocolate cravings.

Thank you for posting this!

I guess its wise to move to whole foods as sources of macronutrients as soon as possible like most Teams suggest

"Protein products typically contain between 15 and 25 grams of Protein per serving (although some do contain more). By comparison, a 5-ounce container of plain, nonfat Greek yogurt has around 17 grams of protein, and 3.5 ounces of chicken breast has 31 grams. Protein needs range from 0.4 to 0.6 grams of protein per pound of weight a day (that would be 64 to 96 grams per day for a 160-pound person).

“That’s not a difficult amount to get in your diet, if you include natural sources of protein such as legumes, nuts, low-fat dairy, fish, and lean meats, ” says Siegel. “You’ll benefit not just from the protein itself, but from all the other nutrients found in whole foods.”

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
