skinny4kids 2 Posted March 29, 2019 Anyone experienced this? I’m going in to my 4th week post op. 4 weeks Monday. I have not lost weight in 2 weeks. Getting really depressed. Dr. Will check for thyroid issues next. Anyone dealt with this? 1 1 MimsDub and DanaC84 reacted to this
GradyCat 3,695 Posted March 29, 2019 It's the infamous Weeks 3 and 4 Stall. It's perfectly normal and most everyone experiences it at this time. Your body just went through major surgery and is transitioning from no food to liquids to soft foods to solid foods and doesn't know what to think about it. Just give it a little time and weight will start dropping again. 4 BrighterSide, DanaC84, FancyChristine15 and 1 other reacted to this

Catherine Wible 51 Posted March 29, 2019 Same here. I am at week 6 and from week 4 to week 6 no weight loss, after dropping at least a pound a day for the first 4 weeks. This week I am back to about a pound a day. Hang in there.Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app
naiad 51 Posted March 30, 2019 My surgeon said not to be worried about the weight in the first 4 weeks because the body is doing Fluid shifts and adjusting to the new anatomy still. Said to just focus on getting the Protein in and drinking my liquids. Hope that helps! anl1990 91 Posted March 30, 2019 It definitely happened to me, don't worry - this is normal. Don't get discouraged, and just focus on your Fluid and Protein intake!
Jennlamae 2 Posted April 8, 2019 Just curious... Did anything change for you? I feel like I might be going through this.
skinny4kids 2 Posted April 8, 2019 Its been 3 weeks. 2 pounds. Dr. did thyroid test. Now sending me to endocrinologist. I’m embarrassed and depressed honestly. I’m very restrictive on what I eat. Not deviating at all from physician supplied diet. I got a new treadmill to see if increasing activity will help me.
