Florida Staywell covered surgery

Recommended Posts

When my husband and I moved here, we didn’t have jobs so I applied for Medicaid for us while we were looking. And we got approved. I found out a couple of months later that Staywell/WellCare might possibly cover bariatric surgery so I gave it a chance. In 4 months I was completely approved and operated on yesterday. Woohoo!

Let me know if you have any questions. I’ll try to help as much as I can!

Hi! Congrats on your surgery! I'm at the tail end of my pre approval process. I have staywell as well. What did your process consist of? I know you said it took 4 months. I had to do 6 months weight loss trial, ekg, sleep study, bloodwork, etc. Just wondering what all you had to do get approved so quickly? Definitely gives me hope that I'll get approved soon!

Hello! I have staywell as well, and I’m just starting the process. I had a to do a seminar before I was able to submit my paper work the staywell to see if I can be approved for surgery. If I am, I have to meet with the surgeon to do all the steps with him.

Hey all! I have a recommendation for a doctor in Hudson, Fl. Dr. Fridley with Surgical Associates of Bayonet Point. He is a very caring, intelligent, and patient-centered doctor. Highly recommend. Takes most insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid. Also has some great rates for self-pay. The office also has a dietitian and support groups. Info seminars are twice a month or just call the office for info from the front desk.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
