I have 5 or 6 incision sites. 2 are still really obvious because my skin scars easily & terribly. Look to past scarring and healing to predict how your skin will react. There are also silicone scar therapy sheets that my dermatologist recommends to help fade scars quickly. Amazon and Walmart carry them.

Good luck 💜

I had 5 incisions that they used dermabond on to seal them (no strips, no glue, no staples, no stitches). I'm 4 months post-op and they're still visible but fading nicely because I use Bio-Oil on them daily. They should be invisible by the end of the year.

I have so many stretch marks .at 7 months my scars are virtually invisible. That and the fact Dr Needleman is one meticulous dude. If all surgeons were like him. I would be in the queue for plastic surgery all ready. Since I am prone to breakdowns and fungal move- ins, and have pictures and dates to prove it, should be easier to secure. I just want one that doesn't leave scars like I was caught in farm equipment, corn shelters and log choppers come to mind!

with plastic surgery, you'll definitely have scars, but they try to put them in inconspicuous places. With my lower body lift, the scar is below the bikini line, so if I have underwear on (I'm way too old to be wearing a bikini!), you'd never be able to tell it was there. I look like a completely normal person - with no scar.

Ooh that's exactly the kind I want, still got more to lose before I'm ready but that day will come. Sounds like yours is little more than a hysterectomy scar. I actually had a surgeon make fun of me because I had not had one, where does it say One must have a hysterectomy before weight loss surgery? Shoot, that would have disqualified me as well as all our Bari-brothers. Needless to say Dr SmartMouth did not receive the honor of doing my surgery, and I hope someday he receives Sensatvity Training. Well much more I wish other plagues on him, but let's pretend I am A LADY.

yikes - that doctor sounds like a jerk!!

my LBL scar goes all the way around me (360 degrees). It's a really thin scar though. My surgeon actually glued me (didn't realize they could do this with large incisions), so it's very thin and it never opened anywhere at all. Most people are sutured - but some surgeons (who suture) do a really good job of stitching - their scars are pretty thin, too...

Did they use anything on them? Steri strips, glue, etc?

Jp port had 1 real stitch, the rest strips or glue... Can't remember its been so long.

My skin will keloid in small amounts but scar for years and years... I knew this going in.

I still can see a scar on my hand from when the Iron touched it accidentally while i was prepping school uniforms. I was 12. I'm 35 now. Some people will never scar like that. But its important to know to your body so you aren't super surprised.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
