February Sleevers - Help!

Recommended Posts

Any advice or well wishes. I am totally frustrated and I feel like I want to cry.

Had surgery 2/28 and only down 27 lbs. What gives??? I've heard of the 3 week stall - but how long does that last? Is it you stall at 3 weeks or for 3 weeks you will stall?

I've been the same weight now for almost 12 days. I don't want to feel like I did this in vain.

I'm going into my 5th week post op. Nothing no budge no movement it's so heartbreaking to think this is it!

Thanks any help or advice.

The 3-week stall usually happens anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks post op and can last for up to 3 weeks or so. It sucks, but it's just your body reacting to all the mean sh!t that you've done to it lately. You just need to follow your plan and push through. You can do it!

you've lost 27 pounds in 3 weeks? I don't see the problem!

Also I was sleeved on 2/8 (almost 3 weeks before you) and I'm down 35 pounds.

I did have a 10 day at the beginning of week 3!

My surgery weight was 302 and I'm 279 now... so it's going slow - today I was down 1 lb. :)

27 is a great loss, I have the same surgery date and I've lost a total of 40 pounds but half was on the pre-op diet. I weigh tomorrow as I'm only weighing once a week. I'm happy with my loss so far. My surgery weight was 337.

ONLY down? Dude I was sleeved on 2/20; I’ve lost 23 pounds and I’m so happy with my progress! Today is 5 weeks out for me. Should I be feeling disappointed? I was thinking I was on track here!

Oh yeah and that includes my pre-op weight loss. So I’m down 17 pounds from surgery in 5 weeks. Now I’m starting to feel disappointment in myself. I’ve been strutting around feeling all sexy and self confident over 17 measly pounds.

No be proud! That's awesome and you know there's more to come!! (Well go lol). Yeah I started second guessing my post surgery loss for just a second, but yes we should definitely be proud!!

I am also a 2/20 surgery! I have lost less than 20 since surgery but I feel good so far. That is a great start!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
