May Hem 143 15 Posted March 25, 2019 I am 2 weeks post op and my right hand side incision is really sore. I woke up on my right hand side two days ago and its been sore since, by the evening I have to hold it to walk. Does anyone know what this could be?
mousecat88 2,281 Posted March 25, 2019 It's likely just muscle pain. If the incision site is red or warm, that could be a sign of infection.

When I had my gallbladder out in January, a few incision sites were very sore when I laid on them and then for a few days. If it doesn't get better in a few days, call your surgeon. Take it easy, chica.
lperry1965 0 Posted March 25, 2019 That is the incision where they remove the stomach. Sent from my 6062W using BariatricPal mobile app
Beautiful3 25 Posted March 26, 2019 My surgeon told me it’s where your stomach was removed so you’re gonna have more soreness in that area. I’m 15 days out and mine is just now feeling somewhat normal.
May Hem 143 15 Posted March 26, 2019 I gave my surgeon a call and she said that that is also the area where I have a muscle stitch so it will take longer to heal. Im probably starting to notice it more because im easing off the pain meds. It makes sense that that's the incision the stomach comes out of, with a muscle stitch.
