KT1981 294 Posted March 25, 2019 I'm 5 months post-op (down almost 70 pounds from pre-surgery weight, almost 80 from starting weight) and under 200 (FINALLY!!). But I can already see the losses slowing down. I'm cool, I knew it would happen, but the slower loss makes me want to tinker with my diet a bit. I don't know that I will, but it's in the back of my mind, and I know that sooner or later I'll have to "mix it up" a bit to keep the losses coming. My practice says 650-800 calories until 6 months (not sure how much it increases after 6 months, if at all) and I'm wondering if my body would prefer the 800-1000 calorie range right now, based on a few "off" days I had recently that resulted in quicker drops than I've been seeing at the 700-800 range. Thoughts? 1 FluffyChix reacted to this
GradyCat 3,695 Posted March 25, 2019 I am 3.5 months post-op and tinkering with the same thing. I find I'm losing more weight at 600 calories than I am at 800 calories, so I'm trying really hard to stay at the lower end of the range.
FancyChristine15 810 Posted March 25, 2019 I'm a year out, and I'm keeping it at 1,200 a day. I lost 5 pounds this week, so I guess it's still okay! 1 FluffyChix reacted to this

Mind you, not as rapidly as before...my health app says I'm averaging a loss of about 2.4 lbs per week for the past couple months. Can I ask what your daily Protein intake is and what you're eating? I found it so hard to eat anything other than shakes in order to meet the protein goal and stay around 500. Now I'm getting to the point where a shake isn't cutting it- I need real food for some staying power in my tummy.
Cheeseburgh 3,080 Posted March 25, 2019 (edited) I need to find mine. I should go through my Baritastic app and see if I spot a trend. Most days I have 700-750. I’m losing weight slowly but surely. I don’t know if I could feel satisfied with 500-600 calories everyday though. I’m 7 months post op. Edited March 25, 2019 by Cheeseburgh

Specifically, grilled or poached chicken breast, grilled shrimp or shrimp ceviche, seafood, grilled or raw prep like poke or sashimi, seared scallops, and turkey or beef Jerky as a snack.< /span> 1 FluffyChix reacted to this
Lolo 2020 236 Posted March 25, 2019 Interesting comments above . I am 3 months out and averaging about 10-15 lb loss a month in the last month , but I am am only about 15 lbs from my goal and I was a lower BMI. I can’t do 500-600 a day most days , as I am very active , spin 5x a week and get 10k steps . Seem to be settling at the 800-1000 calories range with 1-2 Protein Drinks a day and at least one yogurt in order to get Protein grams in ... hard to eat enough protein honestly
FluffyChix 17,415 Posted March 25, 2019 Yep, concentrated on lean Protein, no added fat beyond an ounce of avocado per day and a spray or two of evoo spray. Mostly just 60-70g lean protein plus a couple bites of steamed veg. Kept it plain. Average for losing was <30g carbs (the lower the better), 60-70g protein and between 650-800 cals per day. I still didn't lose quickly. But I've made it to goal 2 at 13 months and will continue on to Goal 3. I still have to be closer to 650-700 to lose more. Shoelace 63 Posted March 25, 2019 I find this all quite interesting as I am 4 months out and am still focused on Protein and fibre and not calories. I'm losing 1.5 to 2 lbs per week with moderate exercise but then last week lost 4 lbs. Who knows why but I'll take it! I think I need to try and track it all again..I just haven't as the portions have been so small I've only focused on the other. Lolo 2020 - I'm impressed with your exercise routine! You go! 1 Lolo 2020 reacted to this

Cheeseburgh 3,080 Posted March 25, 2019 Thank you for posting your daily meals. I see both of you use Isopure Dutch chocolate. I’ve never tried that, it looks like you mix it with fairlife? Do you get the low carb or no carb? Does one taste better? Sorry for all the questions, I saw it on Amazon and wasn’t sure which one you prefer.
Lolo 2020 236 Posted March 25, 2019 Thanks shoelace ! I work hard on the exercise front, sometimes to the point I just have no energy cuz I don’t get enough food in. I am trying to get my endurance back but what has become clear is that in addition to losing fat I have lost a lot of muscle as well . I’ve lost almost 60lbs ... Walter.Sobchak 978 Posted March 25, 2019 I am almost 2 years out and I take in anywhere from 3000 to 4000 calories a day, hence why I have put 25 pounds back on. Seeing at what you all take in a day makes me wish I was able to do that, I suppose I could if I ate the right things. I would be happy if I could get my calories down to about 2000 per day.
