GradyCat 3,695 Posted March 22, 2019 Surgeons differ in their beliefs. My instructions were liquids for two weeks post-op.
Ellf 205 Posted March 22, 2019 My clear liquids finish the day I get home from the hospital. I go on full liquids until my follow-up visit, then I go on purees for 10 days, and then 2 weeks of soft food.

So three weeks of clear liquids?Sent from my SM-G925T using BariatricPal mobile app
Ellf 205 Posted March 22, 2019 No, my follow-up is 1 week. So, roughly 7 days of full liquids. clear liquids ends the day I get back from the hospital. My surgery is the 26th. I leave the hospital the 28th, God willing. And then I have my follow-up visit on the 4th. (After which I will be allowed to drive) 1 shanshan reacted to this
CurvyMom 386 Posted March 22, 2019 I had full liquids right away when I got home, then puree on day 7 ....I had my dr appt day 10 and was able to start soft day 12ish..... Full foods week 5-6 but that's been a bit of a challenge- the other stages went well for the most part. 1 shanshan reacted to this
NYJenn 1,463 Posted March 22, 2019 I don’t remember what liquids vs full liquid were; basically I could have Water and Protein Shakes until I went for my follow up 8 days after. Then I think it was yogurt, cottage cheese etc
SLsleeved 18 Posted March 22, 2019 I have one week of Clear Liquids, then one week of full liquids, then soft/pureed for one week, etc. I cannot even begin to describe how excited I am to eat cottage cheese. Orchids&Dragons 9,047 Posted March 22, 2019 Don't worry about the speed of the advance from one stage to another. All timelines are guesstimates. Try small amounts of the new food per your instructions and see how you do. If your tummy isn't happy, go back to full liquids for a few more days. Just because the timeline says one week doesn't mean that's where you'll be. But, you may be pleasantly surprised. I hope you're one of the lucky super-healers! 1 shanshan reacted to this
RickM 1,752 Posted March 22, 2019 As noted by others, progressions vary all over the map; ours started with soft Proteins, purees, mushies, etc., along with liquids in the hospital, progressing as we could tolerate - some progress faster while others progress more slowly, 2 Orchids&Dragons and shanshan reacted to this
