theskinnyme87 36 Posted March 20, 2019 Anybody have experience with fizzy drinks after surgery Sent from my BND-L34 using BariatricPal mobile app
looly 361 Posted March 20, 2019 I can drink low cal fizzy drinks, but they do make me feel bloated. Also, they taste a bit too sweet now, so if I'm going to consume bubbles, I go straight for the Prosecco! 1 2 Boldilocks, Myhorseisfattoo and GreenTealael reacted to this

Check your plan. Your surgery restriction is tight right out from surgery. It's going to be hard enough to consume your Protein goal. My dieticians’ instructions are no soda in weight loss mode. Years out, yes, I have a carbonated beverage occasionally. I really don’t do soda as a norm and I don't miss it. 3 Catherine Wible, FluffyChix and GreenTealael reacted to this
FluffyChix 17,415 Posted March 20, 2019 ^^^This. Not often on carbonation. Doesn't make me feel real swell even at 13 months. 4 GreenTealael, FancyChristine15, Catherine Wible and 1 other reacted to this

Briswife15 890 Posted March 20, 2019 I was told the same as MIKE P. No carbonated beverages. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app 2 Catherine Wible and GreenTealael reacted to this
FancyChristine15 810 Posted March 20, 2019 Yeah, I have one every now and then, when I drink alcohol, but I can't drink much because they end up hurting my belly. You're fairly fresh from surgery, if I'm remembering correctly, so I would hold off another 6+ months if I were you. 2 Catherine Wible and GreenTealael reacted to this
Avery's Mom 315 Posted March 20, 2019 I was only told I could try them at 3 months. some do irritate me, others not so much. 2 theskinnyme87 and GreenTealael reacted to this
thatch 377 Posted March 20, 2019 I'm 8 months out and I still can't have more than a few sips of carbonation. It makes me feel like my sleeve might explode. 1 GreenTealael reacted to this
Myhorseisfattoo 387 Posted March 21, 2019 I do really well with sparkling waters and they provide a much needed change from plain old water!! 2 1 sillykitty, GreenTealael and victoriajara reacted to this
nomdeplume 36 Posted March 21, 2019 It's prohibited on my plan. I was warned about it on the day of my initial consultation. Because of that, prior to having surgery, I weaned myself off of caffeine and carbonated beverages. 2 GreenTealael and Healthy_life2 reacted to this
GradyCat 3,695 Posted March 21, 2019 I'm 3 months post-op and can't imagine drinking carbonated beverages. Surgeon's instructions were not to have them, so I'm not. I think it would be too fizzy and gassy and make me full and bloated. 2 GreenTealael and Healthy_life2 reacted to this

Kris77 1,538 Posted March 24, 2019 It’s good to get away from coke type drinks...esp since they hold zero value to all of us on this journey. It’s ultimately up to you and what your surgeon and team recommended but I’ve gotten away from all carbonated products about two years before I had surgery and now I’m 7 mos post op and still haven’t had any and I don’t plan to. I know it’s hard. Good luck to you 1 GreenTealael reacted to this
