larissasmith07 8 Posted March 20, 2019 So, my sleeve surgery went great! Little to no anxiety which is great... however, the pains from bloating and the ‘gas’ hurt so bad!!! Fever of 100.7 F so very low grade. Fluids are hard to get down bc of the extra full feeling I have from gas bubbles. I’ve walked, doing deep breaths, patted myself on the chest as if I was burping a baby... any other tricks and tips for getting rid of the gas stuff??? 1 GreenTealael reacted to this

gabybab 696 Posted March 20, 2019 Mine didn't last long, but people here have taken gas-x and found relief. Might be worth a dry. 1 GreenTealael reacted to this

Avery's Mom 315 Posted March 20, 2019 if you can lay on your back and elevate your legs, like up a wall off the bed or somewhere really helps. took mine about 10 days to dissipate completely
TXlowbmi 37 Posted March 20, 2019 Have you tried chewable gas x?
larissasmith07 8 Posted March 20, 2019 All great tips!!! I was told gas x wouldn’t work bc it’s not gas in the intestines.. I also realized that my fluids were just sitting on my chest. I called my doc & they said ice chips & popsicles to ensure I don’t dehydrate 😊 Slow & steady wins the race!!! 💪🏻 4 GreenTealael, DanaC84, Catherine Wible and 1 other reacted to this
Ezinne 18 Posted March 20, 2019 Got sleeved 13 days ago, for me the gas feeling lasted just 2 days. I guess its differs from person to person. You'll be just fine.
Catherine Wible 51 Posted March 21, 2019 I had the gas pains when I had my gallbladder removed, and after my tubal ligation surgery, hot showers helped. Luckily I had no gas pains after my sleeve surgery. I was dreading it and was so pleased when it didn't happen. Hang in there it dosen't last forever! Hi Larissa I see we both had surgery on the same day and I hope you are feeling better. I was in absolute agony after the anesthesia wore off and through Post Op day 1. I was extremely nauseous with vomiting and severe acid reflux. I could barely get 1 oz of Water down. I felt somewhat better on day 2 but I was extremely uncomfortable to say the least. Day 3 I just started feeling better. Still couldn't meet my water intake goals but I wasn't in agony and the acid reflux had subsided. I am currently taking 40mg of Omeprazole for 30 days. Yesterday post op day 3 I felt almost normal except for the part where I take to big of a sip of water and I'm done. Today I feel great. I have drank 46oz of water since 8am. I am constantly just taking small sips. Almost feels like a chore but seems to be working. I hope I turned the corner. I still have no hunger. I have drank chicken broth and was able to actually drink a whole Premier Protein shake yesterday. Will shoot to finish one later. Looking forward to to what day 5 brings. Good luck I'm sure you will push through this too. The first night and next day after surgery actually had me second guessing it. Today not at all. Feel better!! 1 ginamac reacted to this
