Briswife15 890 Posted March 19, 2019 My surgeon requires me to shower the night before surgery, and again the morning of surgery with an antibacterial soap called Hibiclens. Did anyone else have to do that? Any tips, precautions, advice?Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
CyndieRI 251 Posted March 19, 2019 I had to do that too. It was easy - just wash like it was regular shower gel - paying close attention to your stomach area. Good luck!! 👍

Ed_NW 684 Posted March 19, 2019 It kind of has the consistency of aloe vera. You want to let it air dry before getting dressed. It had kind of a tacky feel and I was happy when I was able to wash it off.
GradyCat 3,695 Posted March 19, 2019 Yes, I was required to do that too. It's just like shower gel, very easy to do, paying special attention to your stomach where the surgery will be taking place. Easy peasy.
2Bsmaller18 436 Posted March 19, 2019 Yes. I broke out in a terrible rash a few days after surgery. Not sure if it was that or something used during surgery. My advise would just be to make sure you rinse it off really well. I also used a new clean towel after each shower.
Briswife15 890 Posted March 20, 2019 Thanks for all the advice!! Does it stain your towels if you don't rinse well?Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
aisuru113 11 Posted March 20, 2019 Oh my lord, my instructions for the Hibicleans wash are/were insane. I had to use it for 3 days prior to suregery (morning and night), I needed new wash cloths and towels every shower, my sheets had to be freshly changed each night, and I could not reuse sleep wear. I am surprised your doctor didn't give you a paper with instructions to follow.
Briswife15 890 Posted March 20, 2019 Yes, he did give me instructions, but I was looking for insider tips from folks who had done it!! Thanks for your reply.
