Sheribear68 3,201 Posted July 30, 2019 Well I have the annoying feeling many times of feeling hungry— as in “omg, I’m gonna die if I don’t eat something soon” hungry— only to eat 3-4 bites (slowly and with intent) and feel as if I just had thanksgiving dinner. Rinse, wash, and repeat 3-4 times more in the day. Then other days I forget to eat until 2-3 pm with zero hunger urges, but find I can eat over a cup of food and feeling like I could hold more if I tried (always too scared to try though). I’m pretty sure that if you compared the amount of food I’m taking in between those 2 types of days, the cumulative amount is probably the same. I have no idea why my body/head sends different signals like that. 1 catchthewind reacted to this
Libby63 57 Posted July 31, 2019 I had a colleague years ago that had bypass surgery and this is what she used to say: Thanks for your concern, my doctor says I’m healthy - and I also want to thank you for acting like you never even noticed my weight when I was fat. That was very kind and it would be great if you would be just as kind now and continue acting like you don’t notice - and then she would walk away or change the subject. I wish we hadn’t lost touch. I’d love to have her as a mentor now! 2 catchthewind and Krimsonbutterflies reacted to this

JessLess 1,163 Posted December 8, 2019 My coworkers know I am intentionally losing weight but not about the surgery, so they are supportive. Only one person, my nice manicurist, quietly asked if my health was OK. I think it’s more normalized for women to constantly be dieting or trying to lose weight than men.
