I had my sleeve done on 3-11. Just remember walk walk walk. The more you walk the gas pains will leave you. So far I’ve lost 26 lbs in 2 weeks!! Oh btw I only had 2 days of Pre op liquids too....I don’t think I could’ve went longer than that. Lol. Good luck on your journeys!!

I’m surprised by the amount of pain. I just got home from the hospital and am really looking forward to the gas pain leaving.

Just got home as well. Yeah have gas pains and I can’t seem to really get stuff without having the burps. Other than that I am fine but this is really annoying

I am still burping too. I’ve heard from others that will go away around the 3rd month. I hope so cause you’re right it’s annoying. The 3rd day I thought I was having a heart attack because of the gas pain I was having. I just walked and walked as much as I could. By the 4th day it was gone.

I have to admit, I’m having a hard time getting my Protein in. Doing my walking and sip sip sip. I still have gas pains in my forearms, of all places. So weird. Hope everyone else is rocking and rolling.

I had trouble getting my Protein Shake in too the first week. Just listen to your body and strive to get as much in as you can. It will get easier.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
