spouse, boyfriend/girlfriend/family heavy??

Recommended Posts

Both my mother and grandmother had gastric bands, my.nan is now underweight after losing over 10 stone. Unfortunately my mom got pneumonia after the op and had to have it removed , she's still easily 150lbs overweight. All the men in my family are 6 foot+ beanpoles. My husband is an ex professional athlete and fortunately, it looks like my boy is carrying the care free male torch! My husband doesn't really want me to go through with my sleeve op, but he's still supportive because he sees how unhappy i am

Yep!! I’m looking forward to being able to go with him in his bass boat again. My lack of balance as I’ve gotten heavy scares me trying to get in and out

My boyfriend is 6'2" and weights 180lbs. He eats only when he is hungry and does eat fast food. He works for FedEx so he is quite active. My boys are 21, and 23, daughter 9 and they are all skinny. I've always been health conscious but often fell off the wagon. My heavest is 260lbs and lowest 145lb

Ex H and children are marvels of physical forms. Funny my daughters have some of my physical structural features. But when I was overweight i never saw them.

New BF is fine - *maybe, maybe* slightly a little heavy for his frame but he thinks its more of a problem more than i do or a doctor would but idk. I support his efforts to lose or whatever the plan. So he likes to eat like me 😉 such a burden lifted

Funny to ponder on these things now.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
