My sleeve is in may. I have been waiting since september. My weight has been up 7 Lb and down 6 Lb. Nothing changes. . so i ask my surgeon to give me the pre_ op liver shrinking diet now so that i can loose some weight. So he tells me that he doesnt require that liquid diet. He said only to stay off fats n carbs. I would like to know if anyone can put a copy of their liver shrinking diet menu up so that i can follow n begin my process n see. I need to know if this works for me since i have tried everything n nothing is working.. Thank you in advance if anyone can help

Thanks so much. I will try it n see how it goes. Scared to go into surgery without this diet. I have read that many sleevers have gone into surgery n the surgeon had to stop in the middle of the procedure because the liver had too much fat n it would be considered high risk. thanks again

My surgeon did not require the diet either. He is a veteran at this surgery. But I was also wanted to do the diet just in case, so I just had low sodium broth, sugar free tea, coffee, Water on repeat for about 5 days prior to the mandated two days of Clear Liquids only .

Good luck !

my doctor didn't require a pre-op diet either. i wish he did - that would have helped "push" me/force me to eat better before WLS i know i should have had Protein Shake,

or any other better foods. But since doc didn't tell me i, choice not to!! I had a few funerals instead and gained 5 lbs!!

I did very much the same, Protein Shake for Breakfast and dinner and small salad w/protein at lunch. I had it for 2 weeks, dropped 7lbs

@PALOMA

yep, i guess i'm doing ok. 7+ sleeve PO - 105 lbs down w/fluctuations like i mentioned i never

had a liquid diet, did a food funeral instead, and gained 5 lbs!!! You could eat/drink better now

in preparation for your sleeve. You might end up losing a few lbs. too Do as i say, not as i do.!!!

good luck in April

speedy recovery☺️

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
