I have have my consultation for my surgery just feeling like i dont fully have support. Like last night was trying to talk with my kids about dinner and everything they were suggesting i was telling them i couldnt cause they wouldnt cause they wouldnt help me with keep me from gaining weight and then was laughing at me for trying to get healthy for them and myself. And make me wanna second guess myself if i should check my motives why i should be doing this or who is helping me doing it. Anyone else ever else go threw this

That's tough if you have family at home counteracting your good decisions. Try to hang in there and make this decision for your own health and for yourself.

Hi, I can understand your frustration. You must remember to put yourself first. Most kids just don't have the support to give especially at the start of this journey.
This journey takes a mind shift. It is going to take a daily fight with yourself to get your goals. Don't set yourself up to have to fight with them too! This is a great place for support and other sights. Sometimes we have to learn to be selfish. This is your body and health.

I agree with both previous posts! I am so sorry you are going through this right now; especially by family! That’s why I didn’t tell my parents or brothers...I know exactly how they would act. Thankfully my children understand, and have been helpful and encouraging! (My oldest 2 are in their 20’s though) It will be a transition for everyone. I hope their attitude changes soon for you! Maybe try talking to them again, and share your feelings. No matter what, focus all the more..this is for you! (((Hugs)))

Don't give up! The way they are acting, try to put it out of your mind, be strong and do what you have to do to get healthy. They will be amazed and proud of you once you get results.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
