Okay,

I'd been so close to getting below 200, usually around 215 for 3 months. Couldn't budge. I had started exercising, ( my husband had bought me a one year's membership at a big nice gym0 and I did it for a couple of days and yes, got lazy and quit. I know, I know, what was I thinking. I kept watching the 45.00 per month go through on our credit card and did nothing. I started back last week and would you believe after just 3 days at the gym I've finally gotten to 209 from 215. You guys told me exercise would do it but I was just too lazy but your always right. I think the loritabs I take for my pain they are number 10's keeps me lazy so I've tried to back off of them and cut them in half. I hurt like hell but it's the only way that I can see. Thanks as always for your help.

At 280 I could only walk 1/2 mile. The first day at the gym it took me 19 min.s and today 16 min.s. flat. Now I know its no record and for all of you buffs out there your probably laughing but for someone who couldn't even walk a mile it's a milestone.

Love you all,

Sherri

I would never laugh at that, I'm so proud of you for getting out there and giving it a go. And it doesnt matter how fit you get, there's always someone fitter, I feel embarrassed posting my times on cool running for fun runs and such, I am slow slow slow!

But exercise seems to be the one thing people are just so stubbourn about, and to me, its way easier if you loathe it, to force yourself into a 40 minute run or swim or whatever, than the work you put in day in day out not eating what you crave, sticking with what you should eat, counting those calories. Truly, exercise is the easy part. Just grit your teeth, and do it.

It honestly makes SO much difference and when you get to the weight maintenance part, well you wont be successful without it, guaranteed. Lots of cardio keeps weight off, combine it with strength training and you will look sensational!

There's nothing funny about people discovering the power of exercise! It's fantastic that you got out there and did it! That's the hard part done.

Way to go!

Thank you all for your continued support. I can't wait so far each morning to get to the gym. I have wanted to say that all my life. I pray I stick to this. I sure wasn't losing weight without it. Just maintaining and it's too soon for that.

Thanks again,

Sherri Jo

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
