I decided to Photoshop us a "Get Real Edition" of Women's Health Magazine. The one you are never going to see on the new stand... To be taken as humor only, of course!

Just sarcasm from a girl on day three of liquids only. :)

We (politely) demand more of these...😂

Did you ever notice we go into Weight Loss as Omnivores- yet all the medical people we consult do their level best to turn us into Herbivores- " Eat Clean, Eat Green and center yourself around salads!" Curious, isn't it?👈😰👉

@Frustr8, I actually feel like I had the opposite experience... not that the nutritionist doesn’t say don’t eat greens but mine puts a heavy focus on chicken/fish and the greens kinda fall into place after that. I have very little salads nowadays... mostly focus on some form of steamed veggies :) but meat at every meal, including often at bfast/snack :)

Oh I do love steamed veggies, my late Mama- in- law threw soda in veggies, overcooked them to where they were a jaundiced yellow. Hubby told me he didn't like veggies until I steamed them, and I had to arm-wrestle to even get my share. His favorite got to be broccoli, cauliflower, baby carrots and baby onion, he'd put cheese on his, a touch of butter did me and the kids. just fine.

@Frustr8, will you please consider creating your own thread where you can share your journey? You can then update that thread with your progress, and anything else you wish to share. It will help keep threads such as this one, on topic and relevant to the OP.

Frustr8, there is nothing hateful about trying to keep a thread on-topic. If you have a Weight-loss related funny to share, please do.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
