1year out, stomach pain?

Recommended Posts

Any of you experienced stomach pain?

I am a year out and since last week I eat a bit and I start to cramp for a few hours.

I eat less then my usual and stop eating as soon as it hurts and it's about half my regular portions.

I can live with the pain and it's not because I over eat, when i do eat more the pain is more around my ribs and feel like I got food stuck in my throat and it isn't the case right now, the pain it more lower stomach. My stomach is also very hot to touch

I had a kidney stone and had pain on the same area, however it was the worst pain ever. I hope you figure it out and feel better soon!

I’m 7 months out, was having this pain. I had a cat scan done just to see what was wrong and they were like it’s nothing you maybe had gastritis (they didn’t even knowwwww). I’ve been taking Prilosec for the last two weeks and symptoms are the same. My co-worker whose mom had gastric bypass said that she had scar tissue form around the stomach area that was cut. If I keep having this pain I will definitely get an endoscopy so they can see if that’s the case.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
