I need to get Jello yet, but I'd add beef and chicken broth. I bought Decaf coffee, herbal tea and crystal light. I also picked up some small containers, a new lunchbox for going back to work, and several shot-glass sized measuring cups.

My list is: sugar-free pudding and sugar free Jello, Protein20 flavored waters, Gatorade zero, cream Soups, chicken broth, sugar free popsicles, unflavored Protein Powder (to mix in pudding, jello, soups...etc), Two Good greek yogurts, Ricotta cheese, 2oz disposable containers (so I can prep stuff before surgery and throw in the fridge), small fork/spoon set, Flinstones chewables, calcium citrate chewables, herbal teas. That should get me through my two weeks of "full liquids" (yes, yogurt and ricotta is on my "full liquids" list) and beyond...

I also bought a new blender to can puree the heck out of anything and everything. ;) I still have to figure out how to pack food for work, but I took two weeks off and I'm working two weeks remote after that so I have some time to decide what to do.

I used to teach so I had Protein Drinks in the frig to drink during the day, as it took so long to drink them, and Campbells Soup in the Hand for lunches. Single serving small Soups.

❤CAMPBELL'S Yes Soup in Butternut Squash, stays down when many others don't, I recommend it!

My scheduled date is June 17th. I’m excited, nervous & scared all at once. My primary doctor is SO happy! He’s been urging me to have it done for a couple of years. I was too afraid. 😄

My freezer is stocked with sugar free popsicles. They were on sale this week. I bought 4 boxes to add to the 8 I already had. 😂 I also have a stock of Bone Broth. Lots of Water. I’m ready!

Hi all,
I am new to this and have my sleeve surgery scheduled for June 7th. I am on my two week pre surgery diet and struggling so thought I would come online for support and motivation.

Good luck on your journey. I'm waiting for my last appt then I will find out my surgery date, hopefully soon! The only thing I can suggest is to make your house a clean house, without temptations. I am currently taste testing Protein drinks as I did them a lot. I will also taste different Soups. Drink lots as it keeps you from getting hungry, warm drinks like tea help too. Just keep in mind how great you will look and feel. Make a list of all the things you want to do when you become healthier. I want to go to Washington DC and see some museums. Walking a lot is painful now for me. Just keep your eye on the prize!

My surgery is scheduled for June 20th. Could’ve done it May 9th, but I’m waiting on my son to finish the school year so we can spend some time together during my recovery. I only get 1 week vacation a year. Boo. Going to take 2 extra days anyways, and hope I feel ok to go back to work.

Word of advice

1 yr post op

just research very carful before you do it.

your body will never be the same

its very hard.

just really think about it and research before.

good luck

Hi

Work just approved my June 17th week off for vsg. I'm hoping I can work the following week, I don't quality for fmla yet. I'm rushing to get everything done but have been thinking about the surgery for 2 years now. I'm finally decided to do this in the winter. I have a pre op to do, plus maybe ekg. Plus read up on what to stock up on etc. Lots to learn, excited/nervous but ready.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
