I just had my surgery on Thursday now do you crush your vitamins?

I bought chewable. Honestly they're terrible, but I'm getting used to them. I got mine from this site. Good luck!

I had no issue after the first week of swallowing them whole. Try breaking them in half.

I take my Vitamins in soft chew form. I get them at GNC.

I was told to start my Vitamins 2 weeks after surgery and not before. I bought the citracal petites and they are still big horse pills. Two of them at once hurts my stomach. So I take 1, then 2 hours later I take the other one and so on. I bought chewable multivits and they are by far the easiest to take. They are ProCare Health Bariatric Multivitamins with 45 mg Iron and you only take 1 a day.

I am also on a antidepressant and I was unable to take my medication for almost 2 weeks because it was extended release. But after talking to my primary physician she switched the medication. I'm still on the same type just in a different form. So as long as they arent extended release. You can crush them. I crush my pills and then mix it with Water and splenda. Still kinda nasty but better than taking it straight.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
