Mel36695 27 Posted March 6, 2019 I saw a bariatric multi on Amazon that is a pill, only once daily. Anyone try it? Will my body absorb all the minerals in one dose? Trying to save money on supplements!!!Sent from my SM-G892U using BariatricPal mobile app
Ed_NW 684 Posted March 7, 2019 I have to take a multi with Iron, a calcium citrate, a B-complex and a probiotic everyday. I wouldn't try to get by with less of the 3 golden requirements. Water, Protein and your supplements. That's when people start running into health problems after WLS. All of the horror stories you hear of when it comes to post-op complications like teeth loss and brittle bones and stuff like anemia can most often be traced back to complacency when it comes to following the nutritional requirements. 1 AZhiker reacted to this
Cala B. 39 Posted March 8, 2019 I don't think the OP is trying to skip supplements, but rather asking if a once-a-day multi (specifically made for Bariatric patients) is sufficient as opposed to three or four times a day supplements. I have seen those and wondered that myself, but I think that is a question for your doctor/bariatric team. They might be intended for maintenance use once weight loss goals are met? 1 AZhiker reacted to this
Mel36695 27 Posted March 9, 2019 You're right Carla B. I wouldn't skip anything from the required supplements. I will check with my surgeon's office and my regular doc. I will let you know what they say. Thanks for your answer!Sent from my SM-G892U using BariatricPal mobile app 1 Cala B. reacted to this
NeedsTheBeach 56 Posted March 15, 2019 On my list of post op Vitamins, there were caveats about taking some things together (they don't play nice) or taking too much at one time (your body can't absorb). I'd definitely check with your doctor or nutritionist.

marly18 23 Posted March 18, 2019 I take 2 Flinstones complete tablets which is 12.48 at Walmart for over 2 months supply. https://grocery.walmart.com/ip/Flintstones-Complete-Chewables-Children-s-Multivitamins-Kids-Vitamin-Supplement-with-Vitamins-C-D-E-B6-and-B12-150-Count/10311444 2 Citrical Petities which is 10.92 for over 2 months supply https://grocery.walmart.com/ip/Citracal-Petites-Calcium-and-Vitamin-D3-Supplement-to-Support-Bone-Health-200-Easy-to-Take-Caplets/13448581 I do not tolerate Iron pills so I get iron infusions as needed and I have always been vit D deficient so I take a prescription strength every 2 weeks that only cost me $1 of month. So my monthly Vitamin cost is less than $13 per month and these were all approved by my NUT.
Mj77803 82 Posted March 21, 2019 Bariatric Advantage just came out with a one a day, you can get it with or with Iron, we are recommended to take two calcium chews daily just not within two hours of this (with iron) for better absorption
