Mel36695 27 Posted March 5, 2019 Hi there! Has anyone had any luck with their insurance paying for Vitamins or supplements after surgery?Sent from my SM-G892U using BariatricPal mobile app
SueSaBelle 57 Posted March 6, 2019 I have. My surgeon prescribed the B12 nasal spray for once a week and I also get my Bariactiv Iron, Multi-Vitamin and Calcium + D3 & Magnesium for free. They are chewables and taste horrible if I do chew them. I am able to suck on them and they are much more tolerable. I figure I can put on my big girl panties and deal with the taste in order to save over $70 a month in Vitamins.
toodlerue 452 Posted March 6, 2019 Why should they? Everyone should take some form of Vitamin.
Frustr8 7,886 Posted March 6, 2019 Ah but that would mean insurance was doing something to help us instead of existing only for the frustration quotient. Nice is not in the first name of any plan I ever encountered.

It's crazy but my insurance will be a $600 copay for the direct mail from the drug manufacturer but would only charge me $60 if I go through their mailing service. But, if I go with that, I dont get the vitamins with the nasal spray. Boo!Sent from my SM-G892U using BariatricPal mobile app
Mel36695 27 Posted March 6, 2019 Why should they? Everyone should take some form of Vitamin. They should. Here's why: the cost of treating a malnourished, sick person is far greater than Multivitamins.< br>Sent from my SM-G892U using BariatricPal mobile app
