Darkstarwon 4 Posted February 28, 2019 I have just started researching WLS. Hate to admit it but I am not able to swallow pills unless I take them with food. Is it possible to get all your supplements you need in a chewable or in liquid form...and hopefully not taste too awful.
JessLess 1,163 Posted February 28, 2019 On my program you aren't allowed gummies but you can take chewable multi-vitamins. There are also Patches, liquid like Tespo and and BariMelts. I was getting my B12 by monthly injection from my primary care physician until I got used to all the pills. So you might want to ask your surgeon about these options. I have found it much easier to take pills with a thick liquid. I use Tomato juice and Protein Shakes work well too. 1 Alex Brecher reacted to this
Avery's Mom 315 Posted February 28, 2019 Yep! my bariatric Vitamins provided are chewables to increase absorption! When I ran out and had not received my second bottle yet I used my son's flinstones! lol

I can't swallow pills either and I get all of my needed nutrition through chewable vitamins (doctor recommended). I also have liquid Calcium that's pretty good. LC12 17 Posted February 28, 2019 For the first two weeks post-op, all my medication and supplements were either liquid form or shots (ugh, so glad that's over with). My doctor approved certain pills once I was on the pureed food stage (smaller, softer ones)
