jazlynvictoriaxo 3 Posted February 28, 2019 Today I had 2 tablespoons of puréed cottage cheese, 1 tablespoon of scrambled egg, and 2 tablespoons puréed sauerkraut. I feel like this is a lot of consumption for only being 2 weeks post op? Any body else able to eat more than anticipated? I feel like I’m not noticing the signs of being full and it’s really freaking me out.
NorthCountryGirl 9 Posted February 28, 2019 My surgeon told me not to worry too much about food and portion sizes during the first month, but to focus mostly on fluids. I don’t remember feeling much restriction until I moved on to soft foods like fish and cheese. If you keep it in perspective, what you ate would just be a few bites of a total meal you would’ve had before surgery! 😁

In the beginning people can usually eat 2-4 oz and sometimes not even that much. What you mentioned does not even sound like 2 oz of food. The most important thing for you to focus on right now is getting your Protein and water/fluids in. We have all been there and freaked out early on...just continue following your plan that your team provided you. Everyone does not feel restriction on pureed but you WILL feel it once you start on solid foods. You are doing GREAT!!! You got this!! and congratulations on your surgery
Avery's Mom 315 Posted February 28, 2019 Wanda247 is right! Protein and hydration should still be your focus right now but you are doing great! It will be trial and error most likely, it was for me, on what you can tolerate!

It would be if you ate it all in one sitting. Spread out over the course of a day you seem to be on track. Keep your Water with you and zip, zip zip all day. Just remember to eat 30 minutes after you drink a liquid and drink a liquid 30 minutes after you eat a food. After 18 months I still follow this golden rule. jazlynvictoriaxo 3 Posted February 28, 2019 Thank you guys! I appreciate all the advise :) I’m gonna focus more on Protein and (hopefully) stop worrying
Chelle777 22 Posted March 1, 2019 That's not alot of food. Take it from someone who is almost 4 years out. You will eat more as time goes on. I don't eat normal size portions, but I guarantee I eat more now than right after surgery. The others are correct, Protein and exercise are the most important. Believe me, your portions will fluctuate as you continue on this journey to not only lose the weight, but maintain it. I hope that helps.
