Congratulations!! "Don't get comfortable " is my only advice. You have to keep exercising and eating right to keep it off. I am almost 4 years out. As the years pass you will be able to eat more (not alot), get taste for sweets and fast food. Keep it in check. The hard part begins after the weight loss.

Congrats!

It’s true not getting comfortable. But I haven’t had any days that I haven’t been nauseated if I eat just a little too much. Last night we celebrated a grandson’s birthday and I really missed the ice cream cake but only till the kids were done eating.
New tip to me from another grandchild that plays hockey. He told me to only drink room temperature Water. Not cold or hot. He said room temp water is painless to your stomach. That way you can drink lots more. Good tip and I’m following it.

Susunorm I’m 4 months out and stuff at about 45 lbs. I think I need to up my calories. I see my dietician Thursday. I’ll see what she says. I know I should be more active but it is so cold in the Chicago area. That’s my excuse😂

I didn’t take before pics because I hated the way I looked. My starting weight was 311, currently at 235.. I couldn’t take a serious pic! Lol

Tip on nausea. I had the same issue when I first lost the weight. You know how you eat something and you just want that one more bite. NO!!! That will push you over the edge and I had acid reflux for years until I mastered that. Your stomach is still getting used to what you can and can't eat now. I can eat everything but lactose. Some people can't eat rice or bacon. It all depends. Hope that helps.

Brittmarr1! That’s amazing! I’m in Ohio, and I’m telling you I hardly like to go outside, but I do workout at home. To try to stay active!

The hardest thing for me was getting used to not drinking during a meal. No Water at all. 30minutes before or after. Sometimes longer. I can't eat and go lay down because it will come up. You will get to know your body and what works for you.

Chelle777, thank you. I really do appreciate the advice! It’s so hard to see everyone eating so good, while you have to stick with the program!

I bought one of those balance ball things. It’s easy on my back and I can do stuff on it for about 15 minutes. It was only $45. Takes up little space and the grandkids love it and they are all teenagers

have to do what I can. I’m not buying another expensive gym membership or a new clothes hanger.

The membership doesn't have to be expensive. In the early stages of my weight loss, I was addicted to the gym. I worked out up to 5 hours a day 7 days a week. TOOO MUCH!!! I did weight lifting, kick boxing, zumba, you name it. Find a gym that meets your needs, but more importantly, GO!! I stopped going and its hard to pick up that habit. HARD!!! Don't stop. You can slow down, but keep going. Also, paid tooo much for the ball. $16 at Walmart.

It’s a 25 inch ball with a stand to keep it in place and a couple sets of resistance bands in different strengths.

I actually don’t go to Walmart. There is one about a mile away and the parking lot is always jammed. I’m a Target girl myself.

I just won’t go to the gym. I walk around my house or at Target or our local grocery store at least 5000 stepping every other day. I know 5000 steps isn’t much but it’s far more than I was doing

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
