I’m still in Pre op surgery scheduled for March 11 and my surgeon and his team is the best they made me feel comfortable and they are awesome at educating you on everything they were able to get my surgery approved in less than 24 hours I totally recommended dr cronk and his team

I really hope you see this. I have my first visit with Dr. Cronk on Monday and I'm getting pretty nervous. I'm so afraid he's going to tell me I haven't tried hard enough on my own or tell me that there is some other reason he won't help me. Can you tell me what your first appointment was like?

My first appointment/consult I basically went over insurance requirements health history and dr cronk requirements which was only to lose 20 pounds before surgery don’t be nervous you will be fine dr cronk is an awesome DR I had surgery in March and I’m down 130 pounds I have no regrets with choosing dr cronk or my surgery...good luck

Hey msnatasha87, Dr. Cronk is really sweet. My insurance is requiring a 6 month diet and he wants me to lose 10 pounds. I'm 2 weeks into the diet and I've lost 3 pounds so far. I saw my primary a few days after seeing Dr. Cronk. She is new (my previous provider retired) and gave me a "new" diet. It's exactly what I was doing before that obviously wasn't working so I'm just counting calories and avoiding sugar and starches. I don't know what else to do.

How long did moving through the nutrition classes and the psych eval take? I figure I can knock those out as I do the 6 month diet.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
